Paganism Explained, Volume I, The Path to Sabbats

It was with great pleasure I discovered, buried deep in the archival state, hidden behind some dusty tomes – an older version of the topic Paganism at Suite101. I’ve much enjoyed the more recent contributions, but coming across Laren’s column was like stumbling across a pot of gold tucked under a gnarled oak root.

It’s likely I found the topic in my early days at Suite, but neglected it as time wore on and my duties became more demanding. Nevertheless, I delved into the articles with abandon and by the time I’d been through half of them, I’d made my decision. I must contact her! And so I did. Since the articles were buried so deeply in the archives and the newer material comes up in the searches easier, I felt this topic was the perfect candidate for a Best of Suite ebook. Luckily for myself, and readers alike, Laren agreed to compilation and – you are reading the result.

Covering everything a “newbie” pagan or an interested party or family member needs to know, these articles are a must have; not just any old 101. These are the combined, fresh out-look from the Southern Hemisphere as well. No one will feel left out in this information!

Laren has always been drawn to classical mythology and that in turn led to an interest in religion. She has always been interested in religion but never fitted in with the ones she was exposed to as a child. There never seemed to be a place for her as a women and as someone who questioned everything. Blind faith is something she has never been into!

After coming into contact with the Internet and the WWW she was able to find information of modern Paganism. The more she read about it the more it was a feeling of coming home.

She has been an active Pagan for about 11 years now. She is also Media Officer for a large Australian Pagan organization. She believes that combating ignorance and intolerance is her way of serving the God and Goddess.
